Lil’ Something About me

Hello & welcome to my blog!! I used to literally hate blog assignments in college, yet here I am with a blog and absolutely loving it! So, a little bit about myself: I was born in India and I moved to New York about 11 years ago. I am a Bharatanatyam dancer (classical Indian dance) and I speak multiple Indian languages as well as English & Spanish. I am absolutely OBSESSED with film and TV. Ever since I was a kid and my parents took me to 3-hour long Bollywood movies with all their grand clothes and songs and dance, I completely fell in love with the world of film. It’s so amazing how you can just lose yourself in a different world for some time, and how it sometimes stays with you for so long after. I watch a ridiculous amount of movies – I’m not joking, I spend 15 hour flights to and from India watching movie after movie rather than resting or whatever other nonsense people normally do on flights. You’re telling me I can sit and watch 6 whole movies in a row?? Hell yeah, I’ll do it!

I love good films and I love bad films. You know the kind, the really predictable plot and boring dialogue or the ridiculously over-the-top Hindi movie with 15 flying cars and zero logic or decent story line – I absolutely love those movies. My favorite activity is to go to the closest Regal Cinema once (or twice) a week to watch the latest film. I’m pretty sure my lifetime total of Regal points is well in the hundreds of thousands. In any case, I watch so many movies that I thought I might start sharing my thoughts on them. Since I’m also a Bharatanatyam dancer, I thought I would share my thoughts on the dance shows I’ve been to from time to time as well. I hope you enjoy reading them!
